Controversial Bass Fishing Site Slams Pro Bass Fishing Tournaments
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) May 20, 2008 -- Askbassfishing.com (http://www.askbassfishing.com) website owner, Dan Eggertsen, has positioned his website to align with "common man" bass anglers around the country, and away from the professional bass fishing circuit. When interviewed about his stance about the pro bass fishing industry, he responded:
"First of all, I'm just tired of so called "pro" bass fishermen riding around in boats as big as their egos - scaring away all the fish, and decreasing the enjoyoment of family fishing outings around the country. I know it sounds dramatic, and by no means to I suggest that all pro fishermen are like this. In fact, most of the top pros are extremely respectful to the environment and the people around them.
It's the guys that "wanna be" pros, with their thousands of dollars of equipment. It's funny, I can point out at least a dozen guys in my local area using the bare minimum equipment -- $15 jig poles, a few old lures, some live bait, and putting around in old rowboats -- and they catch the pants off almost everyone else in the area.
It's the techniques that do it, not the gear. The guys know how bass think, because they've been out there doing it for 30, 40, even 50 years in some cases.
There's no substitute for that kind of experience. And that's the approach I wanted to take in building my bass fishing site. That's why I approached a few of these old guys to impart their bass fishing wisdom, and help the common bass fishermen catch more bass.
They also talk about their equipment recommendations. There's a lot of high-priced stuff out there that doesn't necessarily help you catch more bass. They are quick to point out those items on the site.
We're all really proud of what we've put together, and we plan on adding more and more content every week. There's really no end in site."

Fishing Etiquette 101
The other day I had the chance to take two of my sons fishing. I discovered that one of the local ponds had been stocked the day before with approximately 2200 rainbow trout. All between the 10-12" range. Some even trophy size meaning 12" and above. Needless to say I wasn?t the only one to hear of the stocking. Every local fisherman in the metro area must have been there. It was a complete zoo along the banks of West Salish Pond. Furthermore, I am not sure that any one of them knew anything about proper fishing etiquette.
